CATALOG speaking thr-o-ugh (PDF)

speaking thr-o-ugh is an intervention happening in three different cities in three different continents: Berlin (Germany), Florianópolis (Brazil) and Istanbul (Turkey).

Three female artists, one in each of the cities, go to a predetermined location in public space. Each of them holds a speaker covering her mouth, facing outwards.

The speakers play a collection of voices of womxn answering a previous call with the question “what do you want to put out?”. As interfaces, the performers give body to the responses, making the collected voices sound in the three different environments.
